Denise Laman, Managing Principal at Collam Consulting, has over twenty-five years of experience in consulting, management, and engineering in both government and commercial sectors.
She works with clients to identify their pain points and develop strategies to help turn their challenges into success stories, using her Create +Change™ framework. Whether needing assistance with organizational change, business process improvements, talent management programs, or community outreach and engagement, Denise has the breadth of experience to help organizations succeed. She is passionate about her work and helping others and actively volunteers in the community, maintaining a wide and diverse network of community partners.
Denise had the privilege of piloting the US Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Veterans Economic Communities Initiative (VECI) as the Regional Economic Liaison for the RVA community. Through focused engagement and collaboration with employers, educators, State and Local government, community organizations, and Veterans, she helped build an integrated network of support for increasing education and employment opportunities for Veterans, transitioning Service members and their families in the Greater Richmond area.
Prior to launching Collam Consulting, Denise was a Strategy and Transformation Consultant in a large consulting firm, serving as strategic advisor and collaborator, lean and six sigma coach and mentor, program and portfolio manager, and change agent. She spent four years consulting with the Department of Defense as strategic advisor and cross-agency project lead, as well as four years across a range of clients in public and private sectors. As a manager in the semiconductor industry, she designed, developed and launched a new Industrial Engineering department responsible for continuous process improvement for two state-of-the-art facilities.
Denise holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering and is Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certified. She is an active volunteer around the Richmond community and enjoys golf and biking.
